Accessibility at
United Methodist Temple
United Methodist Temple in Lakeland, Florida is committed to being a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible spiritual home for everyone. We believe every person is created in the image of God, and we strive to ensure that all people — including those with disabilities, chronic conditions, neurodivergence, or sensory needs — can fully participate in the life of our church.
This page outlines the accommodations we currently offer, along with the accessibility goals we are actively working toward as we continue to grow in love and hospitality.

Worship Accessibility

Sound & Sensory Considerations
Our traditional worship service uses spoken liturgy, music, and preaching at moderate volume levels.
If you need a quieter space, we can help you find a seat in a low noise area of the sanctuary.
Personal hearing devices may be added in the future as part of our accessibility expansion.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome in all areas of the church.
Quiet Places

Neurodiversity Friendly Practices

Future Goals
(These are not yet implemented but reflect our commitment to growth.)
A designated “quiet zone” in the sanctuary
Sensory kits (earplugs, fidgets, visual schedules)
Quiet spaces for individuals who need a low stimulus space during worship
Clear signage and wayfinding for easier navigation
Digital & Communication Accessibility

34 Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
(Matthew 25:34-36 TLV)
